Roles and permissions
Decide what each person can see and change, product by product, down to whose records they can open.
On this page
Go to Settings, Roles & Sharing. Roles decide what each teammate can open and change. You assign them in Users.
What is a role?
A named set of permissions. Every workspace starts with default roles: Administrator, Executive, Sales Manager, Sales Representative, Marketing Manager, Support Manager, Support Agent, WhatsApp Support Agent and Finance. The person who creates the workspace is an Administrator.
What can a role grant?
Five actions on each area of QuiQSol:
| Action | Lets the person |
|---|---|
read | Open and view records |
create | Add records |
update | Edit records |
delete | Move records to the Recycle Bin |
manage | Change that area's settings |
The areas are Dashboard, CRM, Inbox, Help Desk tickets, Knowledge base, Marketing, Analytics, WhatsApp CRM, Social Intelligence, Automation, Team, Customer portal, Developer, Settings, Users, Roles, Audit log, Projects, Invoices, Forms, Surveys, Meetings, Cold Outreach and Quiq Flow.
How does data scope work?
Each permission also sets whose records it covers:
- Everyone's records: every record in the workspace.
- Their team's records: records owned by their department or team.
- Only their own: records they own.
Can I control WhatsApp in more detail?
Yes. Tick Limit to specific WhatsApp features and choose from Live chat, Subscribers, Broadcasting, Message templates, Chatbot builder, Product catalog, Routing rules and Analytics. Turn on Hide customer numbers and numbers show as +234 801 •••••• in chats, lists and exports.
How do I create a role?
Create a role, give it a name such as Customer Support, and set its permissions. Default roles cannot be deleted. To start from one, click Duplicate and edit the copy.
How do I delete a role?
Delete a custom role and choose which role its holders move to. If nobody has the role, nobody loses access.
Who can change roles?
People with Roles permission. Anyone who is not an Administrator can only build roles up to their own access, so nobody can grant more than they have. The Administrator role always keeps full access, so nobody gets locked out.
