Setting up Quiq Projects
Plan projects with phases, tasks and risks, track time into timesheets, run weekly check-ins, and read forecasts for finish dates, profit and workload.
On this page
Open Projects from the Apps menu. The sidebar holds Home, My Work, Projects, Timesheets, Check-ins, Reports, Users, Collaboration and My Approvals, and each project has Tasks, Issues, Phases and Time Logs.
1. Start a project
Start from a template, from a won deal with the client and value attached, or from an AI plan. To use AI, describe the project in a sentence or two and QuiQSol drafts phases and tasks with durations and estimates. You review the draft before anything is added, and tasks are scheduled on working days from your start date.
2. Plan the work
Add phases, tasks, owners, estimates and dependencies. Work in four views of the same tasks: a board with covers, labels and checklists, a list you edit in place, a timeline of bars you drag, and a calendar. Every change shows for the whole team at once.
3. Log the risks
Add what could go wrong, how likely it is and how much it would hurt. High risks mark the project At risk until they are handled, and the decision log keeps the reason behind every call.
4. Track time
Start a timer on any task. It keeps running while you work anywhere in QuiQSol and logs to the task when you stop it. Your week fills Timesheets, which you submit for approval in one click. People with Projects manage permission approve or reject a week with a reason, and a rejected week can be corrected and sent again.
Set each person's hours a week and days off under Users, so plans use what they can really give.
5. Run weekly check-ins
Every Friday each person shares what got done, what is next and what is in the way, pre-filled from the tasks they finished and the hours they logged. Their manager sees who has checked in and replies with a review.
6. Read the reports
Reports opens on the whole portfolio: which projects need attention and why, which will finish late and by how many days, and which have stalled. The reports are Portfolio, Plan vs actual, Milestones, Risks, Profit, Client cost to serve, Workload ahead, Time logged and Team effectiveness. Each exports to CSV and uses no AI credits.
How is the forecast finish date worked out?
From the pace your team has kept: tasks finished per day over the last four weeks, applied to the tasks still open. If nothing has finished in four weeks, the project is flagged as stalled instead of showing a date.
How is profit calculated?
Profit is the project value minus the cost of logged time, using each person's hourly cost. The value is the fee you set, or the won deal's amount when the project started from a deal. Once a project is 10% done, QuiQSol projects the final margin from the cost so far.
What does my client see?
Share a read-only progress page with progress, dates, phases and, if you allow it, the task list with each task's status. It never shows people, time, money, budgets, comments or files. A Monday email with the week's progress is off until you turn it on for a project.
