Quiq SMS sends text messages to any phone in Nigeria, on MTN, Airtel, Glo and T2 (formerly 9mobile). Use it inside QuiQSol, next to your CRM, invoices and campaigns.

How do I get started?

  1. Open Quiq SMS in your apps. If you do not see it yet, contact our team and we add it to your workspace the same day.
  2. Send a test to your own number. Verify it with a code, then send.
  3. Fund your wallet in Wallet.
  4. Request a sender ID in Sender IDs.
  5. Write your first campaign in Compose.

What is a sender ID?

The name customers see instead of a number. Networks do not allow one name for both kinds of message, so promotional messages and transactional messages each have their own application.

Our team prepares and submits the application. You provide your business details and upload your documents. The screen lists what your business needs, usually your CAC certificate plus signed authorisation letters that we fill in for you. Banks, insurers and lottery businesses also upload their licence.

Your first application needs a wallet funding. It stays in your wallet as SMS credit, and it is not a fee.

Each network decides on its own timeline, so allow one to two weeks. Approved networks start using the name straight away, and you get a notification with the reason if a network rejects it.

How am I charged?

  1. When you press send, the cost is held from your wallet.
  2. A message is charged when a provider accepts it.
  3. Anything left unsent comes back to your wallet.
  4. When a provider refunds a failed message, the money returns to your wallet automatically. If it does not, the charge stands.

Long messages use more than one part, and each part is charged. Characters such as the naira sign switch a message to Unicode, which fits fewer characters per part. The composer warns you and offers to replace them.

What stops a message being sent?

Promotional messages need consent, must say how to opt out, and only leave between 08:00 and 20:00 WAT. Numbers known to be on Do Not Disturb, and numbers that opted out, are removed. Harassment and debt-shaming language is blocked on every message. The composer shows each check before you send.
